Did
Roman Soldiers Visit China?
An Interactive Investigation for History at KS3 / S1-2

We are delighted to announce the launch of Did Roman Soldiers Visit
China?, our first interactive investigation
in Chinese and Roman History for schools.
Designed for
use in the History / Social Studies classroom (KS3 / S1-S2) the investigation
allows pupil to learn about and assess a theory first put forward by professor
Homer Dubs in 1955.
At the time
Professor of Chinese at Oxford University Dubs argued that, in the aftermath
of the Battle of Carrhae, a group of Roman soldiers travelled East, eventually
settling in Han Dynasty China where they founded a Roman style-colony
called Liqian.
Designed to
slot into existing "Romans" coursework or to function as a stand-alone
investigation, this engaging and intelligent resource comes complete with
worksheets and extension taskwork, addressing the latest curriculum developments
(Cross-Curricular Planning, the 4 Capacities,
Skills and PLTS in History).
Supplied on
a CD ROM format it can be used either on an interactive whiteboard or
used on multiple terminals in an ICT suite.
"Romans
in China" complements Inbox Education's exsiting 'China' titles -
our Chinese Geography Unit at KS3 /
S1-2 (House and Home in Traditional China)
and our China across the Curriculum
course in Language and Culture, Chinese for Fun.
